SPOTIME TENNIS RENOVATION AND EXPERIENTIAL GRAPHIC
A Beautifying Process to Revitalize the Elegance and Energy of Sportime Tennis Center
A renovation project I worked on during my time at RZAPS
Sportime Tennis Center on Randall's Island is a premier sports facility conveniently located in the heart of New York City. Nestled within the vibrant and scenic Randall's Island Park, it offers a unique combination of world-class amenities and a picturesque setting. The center is easily accessible from Manhattan, the Bronx, and Queens, making it an ideal destination for tennis enthusiasts across the city.

In 2024, we collaborated with Karlssonwilker and Noble Sign to complete the experiential graphic design for the North Facade.
The experiential graphic design on the North Facade injects vibrancy and energy into the outdoor environment, transforming it into a dynamic and engaging space. Its bold visuals and thoughtful design create a sense of movement and excitement, inviting passersby to interact with the space in a meaningful way.
The design of the North Facade draws its inspiration from the dynamic motion of tennis, capturing the fluidity, energy, and rhythm of the sport. Through sweeping lines and rhythmic patterns, the graphic reflects the trajectory of a tennis ball in play, echoing the sport's speed and precision.
This visual language is seamlessly integrated into the three-dimensional structure of the facade, creating a harmonious interaction between graphic and architecture. The design leverages the facade's dimensionality, with elements that appear to ripple or bounce across its surface, mimicking the kinetic energy of a rally.
Over the years, the original graphic panels were weathered and ready to be replaced and revitalized. The exterior was thoroughly surveyed, marked up and replaced by a set of new panels that speak the same language as the original. (photo source: RZPAS)
