THE EAST
A Manhattan's Chinese Cultural Hub
A design project I worked on as the lead designer during my time at Kostow Greenwood Architects #Rhino3D #Enscape
As you step into the lobby from the arcade alley, you're greeted by a mural inspired by Chinese aesthetics, linking the floors seamlessly. This space also hosts a bar and a gift store.
Turning to the right, you'll find an open-air exhibition area showcasing Chinese artifacts. This space seamlessly integrates with the public area through wooden screens with elegance.
To the left of the lobby, you'll discover a trendy restaurant serving innovative Chinese cuisine.
Stepping up to the second floor, you'll find the Philharmonic Music Hall, a venue renowned for hosting a diverse range of music events in various styles. It’s a space where we mingle the diverse culture in the city.
Between performances, you can leisurely explore the lounge area, where literature and art await, offering insights into the rich historical and cultural tapestry of China.
The space provides a mixed-used program and this is where local community can gather and meet to exchange opinions and be open with issues in the neighborhood.
